ICHD team organized a flash mob to raise awareness on skewed sex ratio of births in Armenia. The action took place at the crossroad of North Avenue and Abovyan street. At noon ICHD staff and friends gathered there with 250 balloons of two colors, pink and blue, symbolizing girls and boys respectively. The participants of the flash mob asked the passing by citizens to group the balloons in two, the first denoting the number and sex of the children they have, and the second, the number and sex of children they would like to have. The flash mob participants were also approaching the passing by men urging them to wear a symbolic white ribbon to declare their readiness to support a future with no violence against women. The action took place in the framework of 16 days of activities against gender violence. More than 100 citizens, both young and old participated in the flash mob, which was later covered by various national and local media.
